Rihanna to kickstart MTV Video Music Awards

Drake has planned the sweetest surprise for his lady love Rihanna, ahead of her big night at 2016’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).

RiRi, who is slated to open Sunday’s award show, proudly shared a photo of Drake’s over-the-top gift, simply captioning the photo, “When he extra”, along with a heart and trophy emoji.

But now Rihanna has revealed that Drake has pulled off a seriously romantic move: he bought her a billboard. Nope, we’ve definitely see that font on pretty much every cheesy Valentine’s Day card (just sayin’).

Judging by some of the positions the pair have been sharing on-stage during Rihanna’s Anti world tour, it perhaps isn’t surprising fans are shipping them as the next potential power couple.

With Rihanna set to take the stage at the MTV VMA’s on Sunday night United States time, who knows who might be by her side on the red carpet? The Bajan pop star will be honored at this Sunday’s MTV VMAs at the Madison Square Gardens in NY.

Rihanna will be presented with the Video Vanguard Award on August 28 during the MTV show, which will be held at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Other artists to have the coveted honor include LL Cool J, Kanye West, Janet Jackson and most recently, Beyonce.
