Rivera says he’s ‘talked to’ Newton about taking down banner
Meanwhile, Newton was unapologetic about cleaning up his field.
According to ESPN, Newton said, “I feel it’s my due diligence to protect this house”.
Mike Dobs told WISN 12 News that he spent about $500 on a vinyl sign that said “North Carolina Cheesehead”.
The banner is on its way to Wisconsin where the Packers are expected to sign it. Then, it will come back to North Carolina, where it will find a permanent spot in Dobs’ “man cave”.
And for Colin, he’ll forever have a Cam Newton game ball and the memories of fellow Panther fans. We were shocked. When Cam ran up, we thought he was going to talk to us, or even sign our banner.
Dobs, who now works at Fort Bragg, is a retired 27-year disabled veteran.
“It’s a frustrating game [at times]”, he said, per ESPN.
“When Cam did not return with my banner, I contacted the stadium police”. “This is a professional football player?”
“He had a couple of passes that could have been big-time plays”, coach Ron Rivera said.
Newton repeatedly went after rookie cornerback Damarious Randall, and the Panthers, despite playing without top defensive end Charles Johnson, kept pressure on Rodgers all day. “He did a full workout today”, McCarthy said.
Detroit hasn’t been a legitimate contender at all this season and are one of the worst teams in the NFL.
“I think this is great news for fantasy owners because we finally have a few clarity on the Green Bay running back situation”, ESPN senior fantasy analyst Matthew Berry said. “I would have liked it if he would have signed the banner that they sent”. Either somebody was going to take it off, or I take it off. We know he wants to play.
“You’re not gonna sell a Whopper at a McDonalds, know what I’m sayin’?”
The Panthers (8-0) are off to the best start in franchise history.
“It was a Green Bay banner in Bank of America Stadium…just doesn’t match”. Carolina just absolutely dominated a good Green Bay offensive line.
“It’s being taken care of”, Rivera told reporters Monday.
The Panthers released a statement earlier this week that the organization is evaluating its banner and flag policy. Adding insult to injury, Dobs says numerous dozens of reporters from around the country who called for interviews ended up making fun of him during their broadcasts.
