Rivers tosses 3 TDs to help Chargers over Texans 21-13

Though the Texans weren’t able to outlast Oakland, coach Bill O’Brien believes Osweiler is improving and that he’ll get better as he gets more experience in Houston’s system.

How the Texans move forward this season with Osweiler at the helm depends largely on whether he can glean anything from teachable moments like Sunday.

For as poorly as Osweiler has played, I agree with O’Brien here.

Osweiler finished the day 22-of-37 for 246 yards in what may have been the least impressive of his first 11 starts in Houston. He’s failed to play consistently throughout his first season in Houston after leaving to Denver to sign a $72 million contract.

They don’t beat many good teams, and lucky for them there aren’t too many of them in the AFC South. “All of our goals are right in front of us to accomplish”.

The Chargers are a hard team to figure out, as they are failing to finish games they could win. A loss by Houston could lose their sole first place ownership, but a loss by San Diego would likely force them out of any playoff chances. “The defense has to go out there and play better every week”. The Texans’ next drive wasn’t the best response with Brock Osweiler turning the ball over. That cut the lead to 14-10 early in the fourth quarter. In rushing, Lamar Miller ran for 104 yards and a touchdown in 24 carries while Osweiler had 19 yards in two attempts. They don’t have a pulse in the passing game, and you might as well go ahead and pronounce them DOA at this point.
