RNC chief on Trump VP pick: ‘Diversity is important’
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gestures during a rally in Charleston, W.Va., Thursday, May 5, 2016.
Both Clinton and Trump have historically high unfavorability ratings heading into their likely general election matchup.
He again voiced the argument on his Fox News appearance: “It’s a suicide mission for our country, because what it means is that you’re throwing down not just eight years of the White House but potentially 100 years on the Supreme Court, and wrecking this country for many generations”, he said. He rails against environmental and corporate regulations, proposes dramatically lower tax rates and holds firm on opposing abortion rights.
In an interview with the Tribune-Review’s Salena Zito, the GOP’s presumptive nominee illustrated his interest in the state.
“Well, I would like to do that”, Clinton explained, “But I don’t think that is how a great democracy makes its decisions about who will lead us”. ” “You can tell them to go BLANK themselves” was about China, NOT WOMEN!” “I think that’s wishful thinking on the part of a bunch of establishment number crunchers”.
Several conservative leaders of anti-Trump efforts, including The Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, are polling and reaching out to donors who oppose the presumptive Republican nominee.
Rep. Tom Cole, R-Okla., a onetime Trump critic who nonetheless has vowed to back him in November, called him “a work in progress”, more so than most candidates. Clinton has a similar agreement with Democrats, enabling her to collect checks of more than $350,000 from individual donors. Fifty-three percent of men have an unfavorable impression of Trump, and 58% of women say the same about Clinton. As a politician, she has changed her positions on marriage equality, free trade, climate change, gun control, the Iraq War.
Sunshine said Trump hasn’t changed in the decades she’s known him. “Four years of an Ivy League education, Harvard Law, and years of life experience have altered nothing”, he told me before Cruz’s run for president.
In a news conference Saturday in Green Bay, Wis., House speaker Paul Ryan said he doesn’t have a timetable for unifying behind Trump.
Priorities USA, the Super PAC supporting Hillary Clinton, has unveiled a pair of blistering attack ads highlighting some of Trump most outlandish comments.
“Remember the wheelchair being pushed over the cliff when you had Ryan chosen as your vice president?”
It’s like Trump, Sanders, and Cruz were frozen in time and thawed previous year to run for president in 2016 as candidates of “change”. “That was the end of that campaign”.
And lately, Trump has taken to describing his policy proposals as merely “suggestions”. He also has taken recently to saying that all of his plans are merely suggestions, open to later negotiation.
But at nearly every turn, they slammed into state leaders who closed ranks around a candidate who many once said they’d never support.
They are so-called scam PACs, and Trump supporters may not be able to decipher between the legitimate outfits and the profiteers. Outside experts concluded it disproportionately benefited the rich and would balloon the federal deficit. Moreover, he’s spent little time on the campaign trail detailing his own ideology – and has broken with much of his party over his opposition to cuts to entitlement programs and expanded global trade.
Some people are said to be thinking about a third-party candidate.
