Road to 270: Donald Trump faces uphill climb to White House

Mr Trump, who has also faced resistance from corners of his party, addressed a gathering of conservative evangelical voters at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s “Road to Majority” conference. “Every day it becomes clearer that he will never be president of the United States”. If Trump could take OH as well, he would offset potential Clinton wins in Florida, Nevada and Colorado.
Some Democrats think that’s a real concern for their nominee. Martin O’Malley, all of whom had remained neutral in the primary race, on Thursday threw their support behind Clinton and urged Sanders backers, Democrats, independents and even Republicans to follow suit.

Still, supporters say they’re confident that Trump is growing into his new role.
Romney won the support of just 27 percent of Hispanics nationally in a campaign where he backed the idea of “self-deportation”. “When you compare my numerous successes to her lack thereof, the facts speak for themselves”, he said.
When Romney lost to Obama in 2012, GOP leaders quickly identified a glaring problem: Romney’s stunningly poor performance with black and Hispanic voters. NY is the largest city in the country, where more than 200 languages are spoken and almost 35 percent of the 8.55 million residents were born overseas.
But Democrats can choose to whine about Trump or opt to fight back, she said.
These states have voted for the Democratic nominee three times and the Republican nominee three times since 1992: Colorado, Florida.
In the past week, Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Fourteen percent of Hispanics saw Trump favorably, compared with 58% who were inclined to like Clinton.

But while Clinton has a NY constituency, Trump does not.
Still, Trump appears undeterred and insists he’ll compete aggressively for both.
“When Donald Trump says “let’s make America great again, ‘ that is code for ‘let’s take America backward” – back to a time when opportunity and dignity were reserved for some, not all”, Clinton said.
New York’s pulling power is one answer.
In a new dig against her email scandal, Trump proposed “tough new ethics rules to restore dignity of the office of the secretary of state” and challenged Clinton to drop her support for increasing refugee admissions and instead support “a new jobs program for our inner cities”.
Warren delivered her speech at the state party’s annual convention, riling up the crowd as the general election begins in earnest.
Testifying before the Democratic Platform Drafting Committee via Skype Friday, she argued for an improved health care system through guaranteed Medicare for all.
“It’s wrong to pit people against each other”, Clinton says. Party officials said before the vote that the motion wouldn’t have any impact beyond being symbolic. “And he’s just heightened the issue”.
It’s a strategy Democrats successfully used four years ago against Obama’s GOP opponent, Mitt Romney. “And I thought, ‘Ah, so Donald Trump really does have a plan to help the unemployed'”.
