Robert Downey Jr dresses up as Tigger to cheer up ailing boy
Being a hero on and off screen, Downey responded and posed a silly photo on Instagram and gave a touching invitation for Daniel to watch Captain America: Civil War with him.
Last week, Vicky Keyte reached out to the star via Instagram after her son’s classmates made fun of him for having a chest port to help him manage his cystic fibrosis. His mother, Vicky Keyte, said Downey is his son’s idol, Today wrote.
Donning a giant Tigger onesie – complete with a tail – Robert squatted and bared his claws and joked it was how he gets himself out of the “dumps”.
The actor captioned his photo with “Mr. Stark here. If this reaches him and Daniel could get a reply I hope that it could help him through his stay in hospital as it is starting to take its toll on him”. He recently invited seven year old Daniel to the premiere of Captain America: Civil War after learning of how the child strongly relates to Iron Man and his life-saving arc reactor with his own treatment for cystic fibrosis. Downey Jr. continued. “If so, have your people call my people”.
This is not the first time the “Avengers” star came out of his way to cheer up a kid fan.
In March, Downey personally delivered a 3D printed prosthetic arm to 7-year-old boy, Alex Pring, who is missing his right arm. The Iron Man suit will be passed on to Harley Keener, who is played by Ty Simpkins.
The upcoming Captain America sequel opens on May 6, 2016, and the film’s premiere will be held shortly before.
