Robert Kirkman’s Outcast Trailer Delivers the Spooky Goods
During 2015 San Diego Comic-Con Poster, check out Patrick Fugit Wrenn Schmidt and Philip Glenister in character from the first sneak peek. It is based on the comic series that he co-created with Paul Azaceta. In a bid to rid himself of this evil and find some sense of peace, Barnes attempts to figure out why he’s been cursed for so long and what it means to be afflicted with this type of darkness. Next year, Kirkman helps bring another one of his comic books to life with “Outcast“, an exorcism drama that now has a trailer.
As we previously mentioned, from Skybound, an imprint of Image Comics, the new horror series features follows Kyle Barnes (Fugit), who has had been plagued by demonic possession all his life.
With a pilot directed by Adam Wingard (V/H/S, The Guest), Outcast is set to debut in 2016. Before the panel started, they showed a video with the absent Kirkman explaining the concept of the show. Along the way, it was reported that Kyle will discover something more about his mother. “Like The Walking Dead, we come at things from a different angle”, he said of the horror series. Recovering from throat surgery, Kirkman cancelled his multi-project SDCC earlier this week – though he did send an Outcast shout-out online earlier on Saturday.
Philip Glenister (Life On Mars) landed the role of Reverend Anderson, a hard drinking and gambling West Virginian evangelical preacher. Meanwhile, Gabriel Bateman will join the cast as Joshua Austin, a young boy who also appears to be suffering from demonic possession.
Outcast will premiere next year on Cinemax.
