Robert Nkemdiche’s brother hospitalized in latest odd twist
It hasn’t been a good month for the Nkemdiche brothers.
Former Ole Miss linebacker Denzel Nkemdiche was reportedly rushed to the hospital Monday.
According to the report, the school said Denzel is no longer on the team and is under his father’s supervision.
UPDATE 11:17 a.m. ET: According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Denzel Nkemdiche is the one who has been hospitalized.
Nkemdiche was hospitalized at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he was not checked in under his name.
“No law enforcement action taken and there is no criminal investigation at this time”, Ridgeland police chief John Neal told the newspaper.
His brother, Robert, was hospitalized in Atlanta earlier this month after falling from a hotel room window. He played his best football as a redshirt freshman in 2012, leading Ole Miss in every defensive category and earning All-SEC and freshman All-American recognition. Robert was just suspended for the Sugar Bowl, and subsequently declared for the draft. They provided no further details, and it’s unclear whether the two hospital visits are related to the same issue.
