Rocket fired from Gaza lands in southern Israel
In October, Egyptian forces “discovered and successfully destroyed 31 tunnels on the border line of Rafah city”, army spokesman Brigadier General Mohamed Samir said in a statement on Sunday, referring to a city that straddles the Egypt-Gaza border.
The move was presented as a conciliatory gesture by Hamas, which does not belong to the PLO and rejects its policy of seeking peace with Israel.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack, but Israel has often said it holds Hamas rulers responsible for any and all attacks from the coastal territory.
