Rocket League Is Coming To More Platforms In Near Future
In a recent announcement made via a Twitter post, Psyonix said that its “Rocket League” multiplayer game has officially hit more than 5 million downloads since its launch in early July.
“The number one reason we’re only on PlayStation and PC is because the team is small”, Dunham explained. Dunham says “we will never say never to any of the platforms that are current-gen”, which likely rules out the Xbox 360 and PS3, leaving only the Xbox One and Wii U, so really only the Xbox One.
Rocket League, the offbeat soccer-with-cars sport that seized video gaming’s imagination over the past month, is “definitely looking into other platforms”, reported by the studio’s top spokesperson.
Aside from the player ban, developer Psyonix also included other new features, such as improving the Quick Chat commands and unlocking cross-platform functionality. “We’ll have an official announcement of what platforms those are (and when) a little further down the line”. Considering the size of Rocket League, we might also see it ported to Android and iOS for tablet players.
Nothing is off the table! Rocket League is already out now on PC and PlayStation 4. “For the majority of the development, there were only 8 to 12 people working on Rocket League, and we’ve only very recently – in the last few weeks – added a couple of people to that count”.
The Supersonic Fury DLC is the new DLC pack for the game which adds two new cars in the form of the American muscle auto Dominus and the Japanese street racer Takumi.
