Rocket League Is Finally Coming To Xbox One In February
This means that players will have to face each other within their brand of platforms. But given the fact that the Xbox One is considered as a strong contender in the gaming industry, it was already pretty obvious that an edition for Microsoft’s next-gen console will eventually be made. Released on the PC, and for free on the PlayStation 4 during the summer, the title became an overnight sensation, with millions of players across the world partaking in its unique blend of destruction derby and soccer.
According to Microsoft’s Major Nelson, Lawrence Hryb in real life, Xbox One players will enjoy the same features, upgrades, and content on their “Rocket League” version as can be found in the PC version of the game. Microsoft did not disappoint and announced (video below) on Thursday, Dec. 3, during The Game Awards that “Rocket League” will be available on the Xbox One in February. This leaves Xbox One players to play only against those with Xbox One.
“The Xbox platform doesn’t allow for crossplay matchmaking between other systems as a general practice across all titles”, said Psyonix via Twitter.
“Rocket League” for Xbox One will have three packs coming along with it. There is Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run.
On launch day itself, players will be able to buy the “Back to the Future” DeLorean DLC released back in October.
Along with 16 battle cars, the Xbox One version of the game will feature the “HogSticker”, a version of Halo’s Warthog, and the “Armadillo” from Gears of War. It will also include the previously-released DLC packages and exclusive customization items. In August this year, Jeremy Dunham, the VP of marketing at Psyonix, confirmed that the studio was in the process of launching the game to other platforms.
Rocket League has attracted many gamers and has been well-received.
