Rocket League is getting Back to the Future’s DeLorean Time Machine
Even better, it is going to be available on October 21, 2015 which is the exact date in which Marty McFly travelled to in Back to the Future II all those years ago. The DeLorean and a “Burnt Rubber” rocket trail will be added into the game for a measly $1.99.
The Back to the Future vehicle Pack will retail for $1.99 Dollars and is headed to PlayStation 4 and Steam next week.
Psyonix, the maker of the half-driving-half-football game, has announced new DLC is coming, which brings the Doc Brown’s favoured mode of transport as a playable Battle-Car. It is clear from the blog post that developers Psyonix are huge fans of the film franchise. Telltale Games is also re releasing their 2011 Back to the Future: The Game, with updated graphics and voice acting, in celebration of the movie’s 30th anniversary. The DeLorean wheels will be a Battle-Car in the league! Once October. 21 rolls around, I suspect the pitches of Rocket League will be utterly packed with would be time travelers. If wouldn’t be surprising if the Back to the Future licensing company reached out to the Rocket League team rather than the other way around.
The only question is, if you lose can you go back in time to replay your game by driving 88.8 miles per hour? In IGN’s review, we said that it’s a “fast, fluid, absurdly good time with surprising mechanical depth”.
