Rockets close to deal with F Harrell
Harrell, according to the twitter account of Louisville sports information director Kenny Klein, helped pull a woman from an overturned and smoking vehicle in Louisville this weekend, kicking out a window of the auto and then going into a local business for a fire extinguisher until emergency personnel arrives. The Rockets are up against a hard cap dilemma, and the deal has been tricky to hammer out.
In his final season with the Cardinals in 2014-15, Harrell averaged 15.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
The Rockets selected Harrell, a 6-foot-8 power forward, with the 32nd pick in the National Basketball Association draft, but even after a strong summer-league performance, Harrell remained without a contract into September.
No further details were immediately available.
Harrell (ankle) is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Rockets, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Harrell does still struggle from the free throw line (so he will fit right in with the Rockets) but he will be able to bring excellent rebounding and some scoring to the table in Houston.
