Rod takes pride at being 40 and still playing in majors
Alex Rodriguez has now hit a home run in his teens, 20s, 30s and 40s.
Rodriguez has his two daughters in town to celebrate his birthday Monday afternoon and there was a party with his teammates planned for after the game.

He says this year has been a nice reminder that good things can happen playing clean and working hard. Many fans are giving praises to Rodriguez this season under the notion that his production this season is coming without the assistance of PEDs. “Forty’s not really talked about”, Rodriguez before the game.
Alex is now enjoying his best offensive season since 2009 where he posted a triple slash of.286/.402/.532 with 30 home runs and 100 RBI.
It’s the sixth time in his career he’s gone deep on his birthday. A-Rod and the Yankees organization credit the move to full-time Designated Hitter for these numbers – citing the idea that the DH position is less taxing on the 40 year olds body. “And I realize today that it’s not that way at all”. He now has 24 on the season, his most since 2010.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Rodriguez is extremely productive and re-established himself as an everyday player. “He also was always very encouraging and helped me a lot with my offseason regimen”.
During his three seasons in Texas, he was a three-time All-Star while hitting 156 homers with 395 RBIs. I was a young kid here, and I had a good time. “I did the best I could”.
