Rodgers expects player exits
Liverpool have been widely reported to be seeking to offload the striker, and earlier this week the club’s long-forgotten left-back Jose Enrique accused the manager of “alienating” him, as well as Balotelli and forward Fabio Borini.
“There is always going to be that speculation but I am sure there will be movement of some of the players that obviously want to play“.
Liverpool signed Moreno and Markovic last summer for £12 million and £20 million respectively.
Every player is of the understanding of exactly where he stands in the squad. The spirit is fine but it’s a hard situation with the transfer window still open.
“I think it is natural that players will leave at this time of the season“, Rodgers told the press.
“Maybe for the first time in their footballing careers – especially as they are so young – they are finding themselves not being a regular”.
“They know very well with the conversations we’ve had that it’s a long season, a tough season and they’ll certainly be needed”. And very quickly he showed me he can be a really important member of our squad. When he was 15 or 16 he had a chance to move to bigger clubs than Charlton but he wanted to stay and felt he had a better chance of getting into the first team. His next appearance came nearly a month later as a substitute when Aston Villa stubbed out the remaining light on both his and Liverpool’s miserable campaigns.
Despite being frozen out by Brendan Rodgers, and Liverpool being keen to offload the controversial Italian, no clubs are said to be interested in securing the services of the 25-year-old.
“At the moment he’s enjoying it but he knows there’s a lot to learn.”
