Roger Goodell: ‘There is no timeline’ on Tom Brady, Deflategate decision
Speaking at a fundraiser in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Goodell said, “We will make a decision as quickly as possible”.
“We are focused on it”, Goodell said to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
The investigation began after the AFC Championship game when 11 of 12 game balls tested at halftime of the Patriots’ win over the Indianapolis Colts were found to be below PSI minimums.
Goodell is a moron trying to cover up his moronic decisions, so the longer he waits, the less time Brady’s team has to put together a court argument, because there is no way Goodell is going to completely erase his suspension (even though that is the fair thing to do).
Deflate-gate information has apparently been hard to come by in the six-plus months since the controversy started, because Goodell needs at least 28 days to sift through the appeal information with no end to the ordeal in sight.
Brady was suspended four games for his role in New England’s “Deflategate” scandal.
If the league can prevent the case from being delayed in the offseason, it may gain the advantage against Brady, who seeks to avoid distraction during the season.
Whatever Goodell decides, Brady can participate in training camp starting in late July and in preseason games. In February, he represented Adrian Peterson before a federal judge who overturned an National Football League suspension that had been upheld by Henderson. Ben Roethslisberger vs. Tom Brady? Wow!
Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole indicated after talking to a source that the NFL wants Brady to serve a suspension, so that the rest of the league understands the severity of the situation and that NFL fans believe the integrity of the game is being protected.
