Roger Moore: 007 can’t be gay, or a woman
Sir Roger Moore, who famously played James Bond in 7 films (the most of any actor) is sounding off on why he feels their can not be a gay Bond or a female Bond.
Tell us, do you think political correctness has gone too far and should leave the Bond films alone?
Everything from £3 smashed ashtrays and £25 stolen shirts to £300 million super villain lairs and £1 billion submarines was documented and costed by the insureres, to reveal in excess of £8 billion of destruction spanning 50 years – nearly as much as the entire GDP of Jamaica, where Ian Fleming famously lived and wrote the Bond books.
He went on to claim that his comments were not discriminatory, arguing that he was simply stating fact.
Current 007, Daniel Craig, was voted the most popular Bond ever with over half of the votes; Sean Connery came second with 23 per cent of votes and Craig’s predecessor Pierce Brosnan placed third with 18 per cent.
The topic of the next Bond also caused a stir earlier in the fall when Anthony Horowitz, author of the new James Bond novel, Trigger Mortis, told a British newspaper he just couldn’t see actor Idris Elba in the role. To which a nonchalant Judi replied: ‘It’s Dame ***** to you’.
When asked the same question last week, he responded: “Anything’s possible”.
He initially said: “Sure”.
According to former Bond actor, Roger Moore, absolutely not.
Moore is no stranger to making controversial statements about 007, having reportedly said that someone like Idris Elba wouldn’t be suitable for the role.
The latest instalment to the franchise, Spectre, hits cinemas tomorrow (October 26).
