Rogic ‘going to stay at Celtic’ – Deila
Deila confirmed on Wednesday that Celtic are looking to re-sign Rogic and the Norwegian coach expects the 23-year-old Australian to “get much better” if he stays in Glasgow.
Evans, a life long Celtic fan who follows the club with zealous fervour, has made an official enquiry over the Socceroo’s availability after being impressed with his stellar form for the Hoops his season.
Rogic has been in negotiations with Celtic for a number of weeks over an extended deal at Parkhead.
“Tom is very proud to wear the Celtic shirt, and understands what it means to represent the club”. “He’s in a good place right now and has played a lot of games this season”.
Rogic has shown up well in the No10 role and with six goals, some of which have been spectacular, and four assists so far he can be delighted with his contribution to the league leagues.
Rogic cost Celtic £400,000 when he joined the club from Australian side Central Coast Mariners in 2013 but the early stages of his career in Scotland were badly affected by injury. He needs time and he’s going to stay here at Celtic.
He also has 13 caps and a goal for Australia to his name.
“Last year, I didn’t know who he was – he had been loaned out and had operations”. Celtic are now three points clear of Aberdeen with a game in hand as they bid for a fifth consecutive title.
