‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ trailer: Darth Vader returns
With a runtime of 2:15, the trailer does a great job of not only showcasing the major characters in the film, but more importantly, their interactions with one another.
“It goes into new territory, exploring the galactic struggle from a ground-war perspective while maintaining that essential Star Wars feel that fans have come to know”.
Fans of the Star Wars franchise were understandably excited when Darth Vader appeared in the closing seconds of the trailer. Last year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens made more than $2bn worldwide, and analysts have backed Rogue One to dominate this year’s box office.
The Star Wars villain is having fun mocking the good guys, including Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen), a blind monk-warrior who takes down a group of Stormtroopers.
“I shrieked when Darth Vader showed up at the end”. The first trailer has scenes of the Death Star, a Rebel spy, X-Wing fighter references and stormtroopers.
The film releases in theatres worldwide on December 16.
But nothing, and we mean NOTHING is going to kill our Star Wars buzz. This one is a gritty war movie with just as much action taking place on the ground as in space.
So regardless of any production turmoil, consider us as pumped as ever for “Rogue One”, whose newest trailer dropped during NBC’s Summer Olympics coverage Thursday night.
