Roma confirm Inter Milan paid ‘€25m for Romagnoli
Sabatini then added: “We have an agreement with AC Milan for Romagnoli, the operation will be formalised on Monday”.
AC Milan have completed the signing of Italy Under-21 defender Alessio Romagnoli from Serie A rivals Roma.
The Italy Under 21 global spent last season on loan at Sampdoria and made 30 league appearances for the club, becoming a regular starter as they finished seventh in the league.
Alessio Romagnoli is relishing the chance to work with Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic once again as his switch from Roma nears a conclusion.
Milan have been crying out for a new centre-back following the sale of Adil Rami to Sevilla earlier in the transfer window and in his place, they have bought one of the most promising defenders in Italian football.
Giallorossi are rumoured to have given the green light on defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa’s move to Olympique Lyonnais, which may result in a crucial role for Romagnoli at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Gunners had looked set to swoop in when talks initially broke down between the two Serie A sides last month, while Jose Mourinho was also considering a bid (via Express).
On AC Milan’s official Twitter account, Romagnoli stated, “I want to give the first team a boost and I will be looking to do my best here”.
