Roma Signs Mohamed Salah From Chelsea
Chelsea have confirmed that winger Mohamed Salah will spend next season on loan with AS Roma.
He has been training with the Italians this week despite a deal having yet to be agreed by the clubs.
He still needs to work on his final ball, but expect the Egyptian to thrive with regular football under his belt and continue to improve his all-round game in another positive season next year. With Edin Dzeko en route to Rome as we speak, the club took the opportunity to shine the light on Mohamed Salah, officially announcing the transfer of the 23-year-old Egyptian winger.
As a result, even though Fiorentina threatened legal action, Salah has now moved to the Stadio Olimpico.
Salah joined Chelsea in January 2014 from FC Basel after impressing against the Blues in both the Europa League and the Champions League.
With Juan Cuadrado unable to score or assist a single goal during last season, it may have been an idea for the Egypt global to return to Stamford Bridge.
The Giallorossi had initially stalled in an attempt to negotiate a €5 million loan deal, followed by an option to buy in 2016/17 for €15 million that would be an obligatory one should Salah reach certain number of appearances, per Sky Italia respected reporter Gianluca Di Marzio.
After completing his move, Salah told Roma TV: “I think Roma are one of the biggest clubs in the world and I’m happy to be in this team”. Quibble with the manner in which they spend if you like, but James Pallotta has shown no reservations in the transfer market since taking over.
