Romney hits Cruz over Obama/terrorism claim
Cruz was speaking at a roundtable with reporters when he made the accusations against the White House saying, “If this deal is consummated, it will make the Obama administration the world’s leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism. I’ll just kind of rearrange the pencil on the podium here, ‘” Cruz said. Though that may change, there’s no doubt that there seems even less room for a Cruz or a Huckabee in the presidential sweepstakes than there was before.
Obama said, “We’ve had a sitting senator, who also happens to be running for president, suggest that I’m the leading state sponsor of terrorism…”
“Yesterday, I invited President Obama to participate in a debate, I would be happy to debate him… anywhere in the country in the next 60 days, to discuss the substance of this deal”, Cruz added.
Ted Cruz’s rhetoric on Iran “hurts the cause”. “McCain and American veterans are true heroes”, Romney said. That title belongs to his Iranian negotiating partners, as the State Department recently acknowledged.
Cruz was referring to the billions of dollars in relief Iran will benefit from when worldwide sanctions lift once Iran meets the new restrictions on its nuclear program, per the new deal.
Susan Rice- the same Susan Rice who said that deserter Sgt.
“Iran can’t go back to being a legitimate member of the family of nations if it doesn’t stop all its activities that are not included in the agreement – its subversive activities, its support of terror groups, weapons proliferation”, said Amos Yadlin, a retired air force general and former head of Israeli military intelligence, according to the Washington Post.
This is not a small point or a semantic argument. The president’s objective has been something far more ambitious: a détente with Iran that will allow it “to get right with the world”. Cruz’s remarks came after U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice admitted that a portion of the funds released to Iran will inevitably go towards terrorism.
