Ronaldo about his future: Not even Barcelona is off limits
Cristiano Ronaldo hit four goals and Karim Benzema netted a hat-trick as Real Madrid romped to a Champions League record-equalling 8-0 group-stage win at home to Malmo on Tuesday.
“Everybody criticises a club like Real Madrid when things don’t go right”.
Cristiano Ronaldo has insisted that he is “very happy” at Real Madrid, amidst reports about him leaving the club at the end of the season. “But that’s not 100% guaranteed. I try to learn as much as I can from everyone around me”, Sterling told British media.
“I respond well to the people who do the same with me”, he said in justifying his friendly greetings with the two team officials after a November 3 Champions League match, also at Real Madrid’s stadium. I am just being honest, I do not know what is going to happen tomorrow. “But I have no idea”.
The 30-year-old was heavily linked with a return to Old Trafford over the past few months amid speculation that he fell out with newly appoint manager Rafa Benitez. As a football professional I prefer to stay in the present.
Ronaldo has a contract with Real Madrid until 2018 but his future has been well speculated in the media. I don’t want to talk about these things because it’s a waste of time. However, Ronaldo is ahead of Messi in terms of total number of goals scored in this competition: the Portuguese player reached 88 goals scored, while his rival has only 79.
This has added to poor domestic form being shown by his team, Spanish giants Real Madrid. “It’s part of my job”, he continued. We have played against some of the best teams in the world and this is very hard for a new team like ours. Madrid fans are hoping their big win over Malmo could be a springboard for success again this season.
Ronaldo has not been at his imperious best this season and the goals will take some of the pressure off his shoulders.
“Personally too, I am feeling good, I’m more confident, and the goals and the good performances are happening”.
