Griezmann and midfield schemer Dimitri Payet were included in the UEFA team of the tournament named Monday, as was Portugal skipper Cristiano Ronaldo, who was stretchered off injured and in tears after a crunching tackle by Payet. He was beaten to top spot in the scoring charts by Antoine Griezmann, who netted six times for France. The Real Madrid megastar was awarded the Silver Boot for his exploits, but showed his gratitude to Nani for getting them over the line by handing him the prize instead (right).

All of us have seen how Cristiano Ronaldo and his Portugal mates celebrated their Euro Championship triumph after emerging victorious against France, but now it has emerged that veteran Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was as thrilled as any other Portuguese fan for the historic victory.
Ronaldo and company replaced Spain, who won the tournament in 2008 and 2012, as the reigning Euro champions, and will represent UEFA at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russian Federation. “No one believed in us”, he said. “We had our chances, it came down to small things but there you go”.
More than this, it has put Portugal in the spotlight and everyone is talking about this little country I fell truly, madly, deeply in love with nearly 20 years ago. “I remember, for me and the team, everybody was a little bit in shock I think”. He cuddled me. It was a very emotional moment.
