Ronda Rousey just endorsed Bernie Sanders for president
UFC champion Ronda Rousey has made an endorsement in the 2016 presidential race: Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.
Holm certainly has the striking skills to beat Rousey, as she is a boxing champion with solid length and kicks. “I’m voting for Bernie Sanders, ’cause he does not take any corporate money”, she stated.
Holly Holm recognizes that she’s a huge underdog coming into her UFC 193 fight against Ronda Rousey. The event at Etihad Stadium is expected to be the most-attended fight in the history of the UFC, with Rousey’s star shooting to astronomical heights in recent times. Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, has attracted the support of Katy Perry and Lena Dunham.
Last time around, the Riverside, California-born fighter did not vote for either President Barack Obama or his 2012 challenger, Mitt Romney, she explained to the men’s magazine.
The fighter, who has a match on Saturday versus Holly Holm, noted that she was “so disenchanted” with the two-party system prompting her to cast her vote to comedian Roseanne Barr’s 2012 third-party bid.
“I really hope I deserve this”, she said.
The Donald didn’t seem too bothered by Rousey’s comments. Once she gets the fight to the ground, she takes full control of the fight, until she locks in her signature arm lock, that more often than not, has her opponents tapping out.
“I mean, I wouldn’t vote for him”, she told CNN in August. With her background in combat competition, Holm is unlikely to rush out and try to take the fight to Rousey chaotically like Zingano did.
She is also regarded as one of the best pure strikers in women’s mixed martial arts, but Rousey, who is renowned for her aggression, believes attacking Holm won’t see her get knocked out.
“I love the support I’m getting, but I’m not surprised because you guys are awesome”.
“I give so, so much but a lot of the time, it seems like even all of that is not enough”, she explained.
