Ronda Rousey Loses UFC Title to Holly Holm in Brutal K.O
Holly Horm skyrocketed to instant superstardom Sunday when she delivered the knockout blow heard around the world.
The 28-year-old professional mixed martial artist lost her match to Holly Holm in Melbourne, Australia on Sunday 15 November (15), Ronda’s first UFC loss ever after competing in 12 fights for the organisation.
Unlike Rousey, who refused to touch Holm’s gloves prior the fight, the new champion is soft-spoken, polite and humble. “So I expected her to be aggressive and impose her will on me”, Holm said. “My hands feel great, my body feels great, so I can’t complain”. The original result of the Diaz fight was a unanimous decision win for The Spider, but that has since been changed to a No Contest after Silva tested positive for anabolic steroids in a pre-fight drugs test.
Then, Rousey descriptively predicted what could happen with Holm as her opponent.
Rousey was transported to hospital following the bout, after which it was reported her jaw was broken in three places and she would need plastic surgery on her lip. “She’s undefeated and an fantastic athlete and I think the biggest threat, definitely, to me, especially on paper and stylistically”, Rousey said as quoted by E! “I’m glad I could share the octagon with her. I’m sure we’ll meet again”. Holm readily agrees with White.
“I have been on the losing side of a fight and wanted to avenge my loss”.
Ronda’s reference to returning seems to indicate she has agreed to a rematch with Holly. Holm told Fox Sports that a rematch against Rousey certainly “makes sense”, but according to Hollywood Life, Rousey could be heading toward retirement from MMA.
So do you know who is Holly Holm now? I look forward to that fight, because I think that I’m next in line’.
