Ronda Rousey’s message to fans after brutal loss
We all know Floyd Mayweather Jr. isn’t the classiest individual in the sports world, so it’s no surprise he made a decision to chirp Ronda Rousey following her knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 over the weekend.
Six-time Grammy award winning singer/song writer Lady Gaga took to Instagram with a message that Rousey got what she deserved for being unsportsmanlike.
With the knockout win, Holm claimed the bantamweight championship.
Rousey, who has been dubbed the “baddest woman on the planet”, was knocked out by Holly Holm in the second round of the UFC women’s bantamweight match.
However, she did say: “I think we need to understand that in order to be the best in the world, you definitely don’t ever get beat up like that in your prime, period”.
Ali spoke to TMZ following the fight, giving an unimpressed and damning condemnation of Rousey’s performance and status. “As I had mentioned before, I’m going to take a little bit of time, but I’ll be back”.
Rousey had developed an aura of invincibility throughout her MMA career, all the way to the top of her profession and also into Hollywood appearances and more.
Holm sure thinks so. Rousey was sent to the mat by a devastating kick to the head, ending her reign as UFC champion and shocking many fans.
However, this writer would be shocked if she did manage to win a return bout as comprehensively as many predicted she would win the first meeting. Look at what Ronda said after the weigh-ins. “I’ve been on the losing side of a fight, and I wanted the rematch, I wanted to avenge my loss”. UFC president Dana White insisted that Rousey was “fine”, but “bummed out and depressed”. “Leading sports video game publisher EA puts an NFL star on the cover of its annual football franchise and then that star gets hurt or suffers a few other bad fate”. Rousey’s undefeated record and the way she was able to quickly dismantle previous opponents was a big part of why she became such a superstar.
