Ronda Rousey to be co-anchor for episode of ESPN’s ‘SportsCenter’
Ronda Rousey already is one of the most dominant American athletes of all time, so it should come as no surprise that the UFC’s bantamweight champ is leaving her mark around the world, too. On Monday, ESPN announced that Ronda Rousey will serve as a co-anchor on ESPN’s SportsCenter.
Now, the 28-year-old superstar is adding another “first” to her résumé: SportsCenter anchor. So, she’s hitting something of a milestone, not just for the UFC, but for women on ESPN in general. She will be on the 6 p.m. ET episode, which comes on the heels of an appearance on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” Tuesday night. She’ll also be appearing on Mike & Mike, First Take, and the midnight edition of SportsCenter alongside Scott Van Pelt.
Undefeated UFC reigning women’s bantamweight champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey continues to break down barriers, raise her ceiling, and become a bigger and bigger star by the day. And way back in 2012, she got a spot in the Body Issue of ESPN: The Magazine.
On November. 15, Rousey looks to make history once again, when she meets challenger Holly Holm at UFC 192 in Melbourne, Australia. “I’m excited to co-host SportsCenter with Lindsay on Wednesday”, stated Rousey, who won the channel’s 2015 ESPY award for Best Fighter.
