Ronda Rousey to star in autobiographical film
And how did she fare against the world’s most risky woman? She did. If you tuned in late to UFC 190, you might’ve missed what happened. Since then, Rousey has been-quite literally-an unstoppable force with her 12-0 record. She was screaming in my face at weigh-ins.
She has been crushing her opponents inside the octagon, but this victory seemed special.
Since beating Tate in 2013, Rousey has won four straight fights with a combined time of two minutes and 10 seconds. “So, I turned around after I knocked her out and said, ‘Don’t cry”, Ronda said in the post-fight conference. I hope this is the last time.
Rousey, who has had 11 wins in 11 fights so far, went into the fight against 9-win 1-loss mixed martial artist Correia at the HSBC Arena in the challenger’s home country.
Rousey will also produce the film alongside Mary Parent. Correia said via Yahoo Sports. “I’m changing my mind, we’ll do 2.5 million buys for that one”. It was against Tate at UFC 168 in Las Vegas in December 2013 that Rousey was extended past the opening round before winning the fight via an armbar submission in the third round. She needed only 14 seconds to beat Cat Zingano at UFC 184 earlier this year.
“It would be kind of cool to do like an “8 Mile, ‘” Rousey said in a scrum last week in Rio, referencing the Eminem movie”.
The 28-year-old Rousey lost her father to suicide when she was 8, so the comments made the fight quite personal for Rousey and led to her leaving a message after the bout.
Besides, some athletes like Lolo Jones are more than willing to step in the ring and find out how hard it is to win against the 28-year-old. “I guess she can’t really say anything about my hands anymore, huh?”
Referee John McCarthy quickly ended the fight, proclaiming Rousey the undefeated women’s bantamweight champion.
