Ronda Rousey told her opponent “don’t cry” after 34-second KO
The way she knocked her out like that, she can do it all.
When asked about this possibility, Rousey said that she is ready to take on any battle. Only her rematch with Miesha Tate in 2013 lasted past the first. If she were to lose, her career would be in shambles, fighting an uphill battle back to the top of the ranks. That’s not a superhero.
“Ronda just gets bigger every time she fights”. This left me, as a viewer, as a fan wanting more, especially considering the months of trash talk. “I hope she does not kill herself later on (laughs)”.
So when Rousey knocked Correia out out in an impressive 34 seconds, she had the flawless response and simply fed the fallen fighter’s words right back to her, telling Correia “Don’t cry.”.
While the UFC retains the rights to a possible fierce Rousey challenger, Cris “Cyborg” Justino, White repeated late Saturday that he wants “Cyborg” to fight once at 135 pounds before he matches her against Rousey. Once the bell sounded, Rousey immediately took over, displaying a much improved striking game. “I’d like to see him pretend to not know who I am now”. And Bethe has been doing that for sure. “Ronda is one of the most mentally strong human beings I’ve ever met in my life”.
“How we planned it out was to overwhelm her”, Rousey told broadcaster Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview inside the Octagon.
While the timing might be a bit close, Rousey has previously shown a willingness to fight anyone, anywhere, at any time, provided she survives her encounter with Correia relatively unscathed. Correia had no answer and the referee called a stop to the fight, giving Rousey her 12th consecutive victory.
In order to get the best appearances and endorsements outside of UFC, Rousey has to fend off fellow athletes as well as hold the torch as an inspiration and role model for women everywhere. That fight will go nuts.
“I hope that nobody really brings up my family anymore when it comes to fights”, Rousey said.
He indicated a bout between Rousey and Tate could serve as the co-main event to a featherweight bout between champion Jose Aldo and interim champ Conor McGregor should the UFC book Cowboy Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on December. 5.
