Rosario Dawson Will Reprise Her Daredevil Role In Jessica Jones & Luke Cage
Although Chief Content Officer at Netflix, Ted Sarandos, shared at TCA 2 months ago that the streaming platform will debut “Jessica Jones” by the end of 2015, which is inline with its announced “every 6 months” release strategy. In the comics Luke and Claire has a romantic tie for a while, so could we see this instead of his relationship with Jessica Jones?
Dawson’s character in Daredevil was a composite of the Marvel Comics characters Claire Temple and the superhero Night Nurse. Dawson, who is also down to appear in Jessica Jones as well is often a love interest of Luke Cage.
Cheo Hodari Coker (NCIS: LA, Southland) will serve as the show’s executive producer and showrunner. It was Stryker who framed Cage for a drug deal that sent him to prison.
In Luke Cage, Colter plays Cage, a wrongly accused man who, granted superstrength by a sabotaged experiment, escapes prison to become a superhero for hire.
Luke Cage is still a ways off from airing on Netflix, but the shows cast is slowly coming together.
In tandem with the announcement, the outlet also reports that Rosario Dawson is set to reprise her role as Claire Temple for Luke Cage, further strengthening its ties with the remaining parts of the company’s TV quartet. However, that hasn’t stopped the powers-that-be from releasing some casting information for Luke Cage’s show. Iron Fist will be the fourth and last, and then all four lead heroes will team up for a miniseries event titled The Defenders.
