Rose expected to miss two weeks after surgery
Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose is recovering from surgery Wednesday at Rush University Medical Center after getting hurt on the first day of practice.
“I know he’s tough, but it was one of those plays, especially in practice, where everybody’s going hard”.
Conley turned in one of the gutsiest performances in National Basketball Association playoff history last spring after CJ McCollum’s elbow crashed into his cheek, dropping him to the court in Game 3 of Memphis’ first-round series with Portland.
“All we know right now is Derrick went into the procedure this morning early, and the surgery went as expected”, Hoiberg said after Wednesday’s practice. It’s likely that Rose will wear a mask when he returns to the court. His performance during the 2011-12 season was nothing short of incredible, and he has an MVP trophy sitting in his house to prove it. Now I am aware that there are a few people out there in the world who still feel that that trophy should have gone to the guy who took his talents to South Beach back in 2010. Coach Fred Hoiberg said that Rose was hit with an elbow while driving on the baseline.
“I’ve been moved on [from the lawsuit]”, Rose said.
DO YOU think Rose will come to his senses? “He’s in recovery now, but yeah, the surgery did go as expected”. A big key, of course, is Roses health. His lawyers responded that Jane Doe “consented to the actions she now claims were non-consensual”, and that “none of the defendants… was aware that Plaintiff objected to any of the acts”.
In the meantime, the Bulls will deal with the reality that Rose will miss a couple of weeks.
Recall a year ago when he took heat for warming up in an “I Can’t Breathe” shirt, and the reflex was to demand that he ‘stick to sports, bro.’ Then, this week, he was uncomfortably sentient when addressing the supposed feud involving him and Bulls wing Jimmy Butler. It was just one of those plays where everybody’s going so hard, and it’s real physical out there. In the original civil complaint, Rose and his two friends are accused of gang raping the woman identified as Jane Doe and breaking into her residence in August 2013. I’m pretty sure he talked about that, as well - and how he wants to help this team win.
“I really don’t have to convince them”, Rose said in that NBA.com interview. As I mentioned before, when Rose is fully locked in, he’s as good as any other point guard in the league right now.
-Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving and power forward Kevin Love, both still recovering from injuries, are unsure when they will fully return to the court.
