Rose McGowan hits out at Justin Timberlake for supporting Time’s Up
“When he wasn’t creating electrifying music, Manson was painting watercolours of my Boston terriers while I was ordering glassware from Martha Stewart’s online store”, she writes.
“There’s Justin Timberlake hashtagging ‘My wife looks hot tonight hashtag Time’s Up hashtag I just did a movie with Woody Allen'”.
Would the Weinstein scandal have gained as much global recognition without Rose McGowan’s?
McGowan’s house, which she purchased in 2011 for $1.39 million, is being sold by Tracy Tutor Maltas from Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles. The actress threw up during the call, and began suspecting that the manager was aware of Weinstein’s alleged intentions.
Rose McGowan’s memoir, Brave, came out today and as she explains, “My life, as you will read, has taken me from one cult to another”. In exchange, she would not pursue legal action against him.
For a time she winds up with her mother and her mother’s new boyfriend Lawrence, who once made McGowan watch as he beat her three year old brother bloody.
“By now we all know the Monster’s name, but I have made a choice not to use it”.
A proud and influential women’s rights activist, Rose tells her story in a two-hour E! documentary, Citizen Rose. “And then I’ll be crying five minutes earlier because I saw a tweet where someone you know, said, ‘You took a payout.’ And like, I did that to try and buy a billboard that said, ‘So and so is a rapist'”. McGowan stated that no one helped her and called Weinstein a “warthog from hell”.
In a statement to ABC News, Ben Brafman, an attorney for Weinstein said: “Mr. Weinstein denies Rose McGowan’s allegations of non-consensual sexual contact and it is erroneous and irresponsible to conflate claims of inappropriate behaviour and consensual sexual contact later regretted, with an untrue claim of rape”.
Back in October 2017, McGowan alleged that she’d been raped by Weinstein in 1997, when she was 23, while attending a film festival.
“Somebody gave him my number, and I won’t mention the other names because Gwyneth Paltrow already talked about it. f*** you”, she writes. “So, to those who say I haven’t spoken, I just say you haven’t listened”.
When asked about what she previously deemed “Hollywood fakery”, McGowan said: “The intentions are good, but I know the people behind it”. In one scene, McGowan meets with Ronan Farrow – who reported on a network of private investigators and spies, including some former Mossad agents, that Weinstein employed while trying to keep reports of his alleged abuses under wraps – to discuss his investigation. Her life starts looking like a parade of horrors. I’ll show you a body.’ And so I did… He cast McGowan as the lead female part in a double feature with director Quentin Tarantino, Planet Terror and Death Proof, and eventually, RR sold their film to Weinstein.
