Rosicky ruled out for two months
Arsenal’s Tomas Rosicky is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery, his agent has confirmed, as reported by Goal.
The 34-year-old “underwent an arthroscopic surgery on his knee on August 4”, Paska said. “The recovery period is estimated at four to eight weeks”.
Rosicky only signed a new one-year contract extension at the Emirates Stadium in May and is thought to still be very happy at Arsenal, despite a diminished role over the last 12 months.
Miroslav Pelt, chairman of the Football Association of the Czech Republic, said:”He’s had some treatment, though not anything big, but time is against us”.
The Gunners are already without Jack Wilshere after the England global once again damaged his ankle, and they now face the prospect of losing another central midfielder early on in the season.
Despite manager Arsene Wenger revealing that Rosicky is well on his way to recovery, he is now set to miss the match against Palace as well as Liverpool, Newcastle United, Stoke City, Chelsea, Leicester City, and Manchester United.
The full-back was ruled out of last Sunday’s 2-0 home defeat to West Ham with a slight thigh injury, but he has resumed training.
