Rosie O’Donnell tweets daughter Chelsea ‘is ok’ post hospitalization
Rosie O’Donnell has assured her fans her daughter Chelsea is “OK” following her hospitalisation this week.
Sadly this is the latest development in the tumultuous relationship between Rosie, 54 and her adopted daughter.
In August of a year ago O’Donnell had tweeted that Chelsea, 17 at the time, and her therapy dog had gone missing from the home.
“Chelsea stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention”, Ms. O’Donnell posted to her website at the time.
Rosie and Chelsea had recently made amends following months of estrangement, with the comedienne marking their reconciliation on Instagram in August (16) by sharing a picture of the pair and writing, “chelsea and me – what a difference a year makes #hopelives”.
Rosie’s formerly estranged daughter Chelsea was taken to a Long Island hospital for undisclosed reasons and was admitted for a psychiatric evaluation, E!
Sources told E! News Chelsea is presently “alert and awake” and “safe”, although it is unknown when she will be released from the hospital. Later she was found in the home of a 25-year-old man she’d met on Tinder.
Chelsea claimed she hadn’t run away from home and that her mother had kicked her out instead. It’s like two different people’.
She would always go up to people and want to hold their babies in public.
Then last October, Chelsea detailed her troubled relationship with her mum in an interview.
At the time, Rosie’s representatives claimed Chelsea was living with “mental illness” but Chelsea disputed the reports.
Chelsea and her mother appeared close again in recent months.
The comedian married Kelli Carpenter in 2004, and she adopted the first three children and gave birth to Vivienne. “19 today #believe”, O’Donnell captioned the smiling selfie.
