Rosler unlikely to add to Leeds squad
Leeds are chasing their first league win of the season at newly-promoted Bristol City following successive draws against Burnley and Reading.
Derrick Williams did hit a free-kick over, but Uwe Rosler’s men were not threatened as much as they were earlier and appeared comfortable until City made it a nervy finish by pulling a goal back a minute from the end of normal time through Kieron Agard.
In the meantime, the German has utilised his organisational skills to make the Whites hard to beat, a quality that is borne out by their results so far this season.
“A club like Leeds United should always look to improve the squad”, Rosler told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Cook will sit out the second game of his three-match ban following his recent red card against Doncaster, while Murphy has made two substitute appearances since recovering from minor knee surgery in the summer.
“But we don’t need to dive in just to drive on a safety policy here, that is not really what we want”.
“But we’re coping with it. We have good staff, very hard-working staff and players also understand we have to sacrifice a lot now to come through that schedule, to give ourselves the best chance of winning games”. At the moment, it is going fine but we are always on the look out to improve our squad.
Rosler has been active in the transfer window this summer and in Chris Wood and Stuart Dallas he has purchased attacking players who boast a proven track record in the English second tier. With the loan window as well, I am pretty relaxed about the situation.
“We will not do any players a favour when we put them in at the deep end, living or dying”, Rosler added. “We have to see how the situation develops”.
