Rotherham United: Neil Redfearn unveiled as new boss
Redfearn, who has been out of work since leaving Leeds in the summer, has penned a two-and-a-half year deal with the Championship club and replaces Steve Evans, who surprisingly left last week.
Neil Redfearn described his controversial departure from Leeds United as “water under the bridge” and said he was in “a much better position” for his time as head coach after taking charge as the new manager of Rotherham United. The club’s had lots of recent success – Steve Evans has been a big part of it and has to take a lot of credit.
He brings Championship experience to the Millers having been placed in temporary charge of the Whites on no fewer than three occasions, and was probably unfortunate to be given the boot at Elland Road following a decent consolidation job last season.
Shortly before that break-up, Cellino labelled the club’s one-time Academy manager “weak” and accused him of acting “like a baby”.
“The former Leeds United boss has penned an agreement until the end of the 2017-2018 season to join the Millers, and he will be officially unveiled at a press conference at AESSEAL New York Stadium on Monday afternoon”.
“It was a great learning curve”, he said. It happened and I’m proud of what I achieved.
“This is a club that’s capable of going on to the next level – that’s what excites me, and it’s a real challenge”, said Redfearn, according to Sky Sports News. With that in mind, here’s what Twitter had to say about Redfearn being given the job. I was always strong as a player and was mostly captain of the sides I played for, because I am a leader. What it did was enhance what I’ve got.
