Rouhani says nuclear deal a ‘third way’ for Iranian foreign policy
In a live appearance on state television, Hassan Rouhani said the July 14 agreement had shown diplomacy and engagement were the only way to solve serious political problems and end crises.
“I was never despondent”, he said.
He said the talks between Iran and the six-nation group – the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany – worked because of “constructive interaction” instead of confrontation.
Almost two years after that the Iranian nuclear negotiators left the negotiation table with a deal which will bring great benefit to Iran.
Congress has 60 days since the announcement last month to approve the deal that delays Iran’s nuclear program while freeing up frozen assets and easing sanctions on Iran.
The former official said the UN Security Council resolutions which were posed on Iran in past years could have created very bad and undesired situations for the Islamic republic.
“The Iranian government is standing strong on the path of (implementing) the agreement and we will remain committed to our undertakings as long as the other side remains loyal to its obligations, The Washington Free Beacon quoted the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei”.
Claims being made by the Obama administration concerning the success of the West’s nuclear cope with Iran are unfaithful and being made merely to placate People, Iranian officers say. “The lifting of the sanctions will start, the atmosphere will change, investment will come to the country, our hands will be untied to sell oil”, Rouhani said, adding that the agreement placed no limits on Iran’s missile strength.
Iran has supported Syrian President Bashar al-Assad by sending money and military advisers to aid his regime in its battle against Sunni rebels attempting to oust him. In exchange, the U.S., European Union and United Nations agreed to lift economic sanctions on Iran.
