Rousey roams to Brazil with plan to beat Correia at UFC 190
Rousey has yet to respond and, really, no one should be surprised that she acted the way she did in the first place. “I know a lot of people aren’t rooting for me, but I’m gonna fight for all of Brazil”.
Correia, experienced and undefeated at 9-0, sits at No. 5 in the women’s bantamweight rankings, but has yet to face anyone with a credible Octagon resume.
As a fighter both in her career and personal life, Rousey has learned that she can conquer any obstacle and wants her fans to know the same.
There will be no love lost between these two fighters when they square off for the women’s bantamweight championship.
There’s also lightweight action in the co-main event here as Michael Johnson looks to press closer to title contention with a win over Beneil Dariush who’s hoping to make it into the division’s top 10, while Sara McMann Vs Amanda Nunes is also among the fights on the main card. Her last four fights have lasted a combined 130 seconds.
Rousey’s excellence is well known. And then I’m going to go beat up Miesha (Tate, her likely next opponent).
Correia would seem to be a prime candidate for another early night. Rousey is arguably UFC’s biggest star, company president Dana White doesn’t want to undermine her credibility by letting her do a WWE gig. I promised her that I’m going to be fine.
Forget Rousey’s unrivaled resume or the fact that she crushed each of her last two opponents in a total of 30 seconds, Correia’s inexperience means that she’ll be facing an unimaginable leap in competition when she steps into the octagon on Saturday.
“When are we going to see, uh, women in the UFC, man?” was the question a TMZ reporter posed to UFC President Dana White in January of 2011.
It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday August 1st, 2015) will come from HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the form of UFC 190. Saying this was a one sided fight would be an understatement. “She has no nationality”.
I’ve always been a sucker for the underdog, but in this case, there’s just too many “ifs” to a Correia victory. Yet with her judo background and mission to finish fights as quickly and efficiently as possible, it could prove hard for Rousey to prolong the fight just to inflict justice.
But despite her pronouncement, Rousey is expected to go for the kill in the opening round of their match.
Rousey continues to build one of the most incomparable resumes in all of sports.
Rousey’s fire has been rekindled, and she insists her focus is honed. As Rousey was rising up the ranks in judo LeBell remained by her side. That would be something new. And Bethe is just another fighter.
Not long after the WWE confirmed Piper’s death on Friday, Rousey posted a photo of him on her Instagram account and said: “This one’s for you Roddy…”
