Royals Focus On Mental Health In Dundee Trip
The Duke of Cambridge has spoken out about the nation’s attitude to mental health, saying it was “sad” that “society does not seem to listen enough” to those with problems.
Prince William and the more lovely than ever Kate Middleton-aka, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge-visited Dundee, Scotland on the 23rd, where they attended events for the Scottish Mental Health and Film Festival.
The royal couple will later visit The Corner, an institution which runs a drop-in centre for teenagers wanting advice on issues like contraception or exam stress, and peer-led and outreach services.
She was greeting people in Dundee when she was asked by Fearghas Simpson if Prince William still rides his Ducati bike, and she confirmed that he does.
During the game, Duchess Kate said, “I have a lot to learn”, to which the Duke responded, “I can’t educate her, she’s not interested”.
The Telegraph has also reported that the Duchess has vowed to ban her firstborn from riding the motorbikes when he’s older and that she hates it when William rides the “dangerous machines. I’m hoping to keep George off it”, she said. Dressed in casual clothes, Kate Middleton and Prince William visited Harrow College in London on October 10 to raise awareness for World Mental Health Day.
“And hopefully that will help more people come forward”.
The Cambridges’ last two royal engagements will cover different areas and see them tour explorer Captain Scott’s ship RRS (Royal Research Ship) Discovery, which was built in Dundee and carried him – and a young Ernest Shackleton – on their first expedition to Antarctica in 1901.
The day will finish by looking at Scotland’s tech industry at Abertay University, where the couple will meet students who have been involved in BAFTA’s Young Game Designers programme.
