Royce Gracie vs Ken Shamrock Fight Video from Bellator 149
If you watched last night’s Bellator 149 card then you know that the co-main event between Kimbo Slice and DADA 5000, well, it didn’t go so well…
About two minutes into the fight, they clinched and began exchanging knees, one of the knees from Gracie connected to Shamrock’s temple and he went down, curling up and covering his groin with his hands. The two were completely gassed though for the second, as they were mostly flailing their arms and all power had been lost from their punches. “We come from the beginning when there was no gloves, no rules, no time limit, no weight division”. In the third round, with both fighters clearly worn out, Slice swung and missed, but the ensuing gust of wind provided enough force to blow Dada 5000 down to the mat for good. That was a joke.
The pair were out of gas just one minute in and continued to trudge comically through three rounds of very bad fighting with Kimbo Slice eventually defeating his opponent through sheer exhaustion. I’m a brawler. I’m not an MMA fighter. I was wrong for getting upset. But in the end, they, like anyone trying to catch eyeballs in the fickle entertainment business, gambled on the talent and had to live with the results. I went through every emotion. Will this victory lead to more fights for Gracie inside the Bellator MMA cage?
Sanchez (12-2) returns at Bellator 149 on Friday in Houston, Texas, to face veteran Daniel Pineda (22-11) in a featured 145-pound bout.
“Who’s going to have the storybook ending and walk away and say, ‘That’s my legacy, ‘” Shamrock said.
