RSS invokes Vedas to defend Dadri lynching
The article goes on to accuse the Indian Muslims of rejecting the traditions of the country.
Defending the gruesome Dadri lynching incident, in which a 50-year-old Muslim man was killed by mob over rumours of eating beef, RSS mouthpiece Panchjanya has claimed the Vedas order the killing of “sinners” who slaughter cows.
The article added that the Dadri victim may have slaughtered a cow under the influence of anti-nationals.
The article, which carries the byline of Hindi writer Tufail Chaturvedi, also slammed those writers and novelists who have returned their awards in protest against the Dadri incident. We have to decide whether Hindus should fight Muslims or poverty. “It is important for social harmony that we respect faiths of each other”.
The RSS article has also called for a thorough probe into the credentials of writers returning the Sahitya Akademi and other awards, and has accused their “anguish of being laced with clear political bias”.
While BJP high command has sent a strong signal to BJP leaders warning them against making controversial remarks on cow slaughter and Dadri lynching, the RSS mouthpiece, Panchjanya has defended the killing of Mohammad Iqlakh over suspicion that he had stored beef. The society “glorifies and remembers” such persons “martyred to prevent cow-slaughter”, it states.
In the article it was stated that originally all the Indians were Hndus but later they were converted as Muslims. Uske purvaj bhi usi tarah gau-rakshak thhe jaise gau-hatyaron ko dandit karne wale asankhya vir hain.
The article says radical Muslim organizations have since centuries been working to “vitiate” the minds of converts on issues such as cow protection.
The RSS never supported any incident of violence.
Underlining the significance of cows for Hindus, the cover story states that the 1857 revolt was triggered only after the order of uncapping cartridge greased with beef.
