Rubio calls for military strength, criticizes Cruz
Ted Cruz (center) looks on during the Republican Presidential Debate, hosted by CNN, at The Venetian Las Vegas on December 15, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jeb Bush’s 2016 campaign released a new advertisement after Tuesday night’s Republican presidential debate that bashed frontrunner Donald Trump for being a “chaotic and wrong” candidate who lacks the tools to be commander-in-chief of the United States during a time of war.
Meanwhile, Chris Christie commented during the debate that as one-term senators, Rubio and Cruz would work out in office like Obama, and Rubio denied Obama failed because of his initial inexperience. Cruz said. After the debate, the recent terror scares in Southern California were a big part of the discussion in the GOP debate spin room.
That’s the same order as a straw poll taken after the November 10 debate, when Cruz got 42 votes and Carson tallied 33 when 136 local Republicans were asked. Still, this most entertaining of five Republican presidential debates was nevertheless notable for its drivers trading much paint in the straightaways.
A conservative USA senator from Texas, Cruz has tried to avoid direct confrontation with Trump, but Cruz’s rise in the polls could make him a target for the combative billionaire at the nationally televised forum from Las Vegas due to begin at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday (0200 GMT on Wednesday).
We’re not bringing all this up to say that Trump has disqualified himself from being president.
Mr Graham led the rhetorical charge into battle, while former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee said USA troops were exhausted after the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. “The refugee issue will be solved if we destroy ISIS there, which means we need to have a no-fly zone, safe zones there for refugees and to build a military force”, he said. Kellan Terry, a data analyst with Brandwatch, said Trump finished the debate with the highest percentage of negative mentions online. “And I finished up by saying, ‘We aren’t winning anymore'”.
Trump also released a statement on Wednesday responding to the suggestion that Bush wouldn’t back him if he won the Republican nomination.
On immigration, Cruz attacked Rubio for helping to draft a bipartisan bill that strengthened border controls and offered a path to citizenship for an estimated 11 million unauthorized immigrants.
I found it amusing that while Jeb Bush was lighting into Trump, the CNN cameras went to split screen, showing Trump making faces and rolling his eyes.
If you’re going to close the Internet, America, realize what that entails. He has also called on the U.S.to send troops into Syria.
The debate mostly focused on national security.
