Rubio says Cruz hurt United States intelligence programs with stance
Wisconsin Republicans prefer neurosurgeon Ben Carson over his presidential opponents according to statewide poll results released Thursday, while their dissatisfaction with Gov. Scott Walker has remained stagnant since September.
“Frankly, I had no idea he wasn’t in this race”, Colbert joke, speaking of the large number of Republican candidates now still in the race.
When first and second-choice preferences are combined, Trump (38 percent) and Rubio (26 percent) are still at the top. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie placed fourth in his own state with 9 percent – about half the support he had in June. Trump has regained his lead among leaned Republican voters with high school degrees or less. Bernie Sanders’ 41 percent.
Trump was referring to his 95-minute tirade last week in which he said voters in Iowa who support Carson are “stupid” to believe the “crap” that is his life story.
Similarly, only 27 percent had a favorable opinion of Republican U.S. Sen.
Carson’s biggest strength comes among those who self-identify as Christian conservatives and voters in the south, which Selzer said could give him a boost because many southern states hold their primaries early in the election cycle.
Others said the candidate’s success in business and global travels have prepared him to deal with a range of foreign policy concerns.
“Nobody wants to say this and nobody wants to shut down religious institutions or anything, but you know, you understand it”, Trump said on Fox News’s “Hannity” on Tuesday.
Larry Stewart, a retired insurance appraiser who attended the second Trump event, said he’s trying to decide whether to caucus for Trump or Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.
Among Democrats, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton led at 50%, followed by U.S. Sen.
Clinton trails all leading Republican contenders by wide margins, according to the poll, which surveyed 1,262 Colorado voters from November 11 to 15 with calls to land lines and cellphones. The political affiliation of respondents worked out to 374 Democrats and 326 Republicans.
Twenty-two percent of Utahns said they’d choose Carson to be the 2016 GOP nominee, while 9 percent picked Trump. Among Republican voters, 36 percent backed Trump.
The reason is clear: Donald Trump. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has slotted the bill for possible Senate consideration, though it’s unclear whether the chamber could get enough votes to override a veto by President Barack Obama, who opposes the measure. Before the debate/attacks, he registered 6% in national polls and he has stayed there after them. And the Washington Post noted, “Only Trump is willing to say what all the others, particularly the puny politicians, won’t say: we may have to resort to the ‘frankly unthinkable.’ This can’t possibly keep working”.
