Rubio tax returns tell of his fast rise to prominence
“It’s an executive position as well as a law enforcement position, and voters need to really get familiar with who these guys are and make a good choice”.
Voters in a dozen states will participate in primaries Tuesday, a lot of them in the South. Going into voting, a count by the Associated Press indicates Trump is leading with 82 convention delegates, following by Cruz with 17 and Sen. “It’s wonderful what’s going on”, he told NBC, calling his campaign a “movement”. He sought to deflect concerns that he’s yet to win a contest while Trump has won New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada after a second place finish in the Iowa caucuses.
Before Saturday, Cruz had released five years of tax returns in more detail for the years 2006 through 2010, according to his campaign website. “We’re not angry people, but we’re angry at the way this country’s being run (and) angry at the way the Republican Party is being run”. The senators on Saturday released summary pages of several years’ worth of their personal returns.
Trump was asked on CNN’s “State of the Union” whether he would declare that he didn’t want Duke’s support, or that of other white supremacists in the presidential election.
“When this process is finished, Donald Trump will not have the 1,237 delegates…and I will be in this race as long as it takes to prevent that from happening and becoming the nominee”, Rubio said while talking to the media prior to the rally. The Republican Party is beginning to prepare for the inevitable fact that Donald Trump will be the Republican presidential nominee.
Tuesday, Cruz said, “is a battle to determine where conservatives go”.
Rubio tells CBS’ “Face the Nation” that if Trump wins the nomination, “it will split us and splinter us in a way that we may never be able to recover and the Democrats will be joyful about it”. Trump would take America on a unsafe journey.
Cruz warned that the “Trump train” could become “unstoppable” if he rolls to big victories Tuesday.
Most states participating award delegates proportionally.
CHRISTIE: Well, listen, I’m talking about a whole bunch of things. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., greets people during a campaign rally at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016.
Both Rubio and a fourth candidate, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, are looking ahead to home state primaries on March 15. “Even Donald doesn’t know what he would do”, Cruz said.
“He left the state, he abandoned the state for his own political aspirations”.
On ABC, Sanders noted that he still garnered strong support from voters under the age of 30, and he predicted he would fare better overall in Super Tuesday states like Minnesota, Oklahoma, Massachusetts and his native Vermont. But make no mistake, he’s more mainstream than many others.
