Rumor: A Final Fantasy XII Remake is Happening
Luckily for fans of the game that want to play it a modern system, it looks like a remastered version of Final Fantasy 12 may be materializing behind closed doors in Japan.
According to composer Arnie Roth there’s a Final Fantasy 12 remake coming, though he probably means a remaster. Conductor Arnie Roth recently told a Pittsburgh crowd that a Final Fantasy XII remake is on the way.
Final Fantasy producer Yoshinori Kitase had stated in an earlier interview that they plan to give the HD Remaster treatment to Final Fantasy XII depending on the sales of Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster. While the game has been in development for quite some time, Square Enix CEO of the Americas and Europe, Phil Rogers believes the making of the game has been a good experience and a great project.
For example, will it only include Final Fantasy 12, or will it also include Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings?
While the word that he used here was Remake, it is entirely possible that he is confusing it with a HD Remaster.
We’ve reached out to Square Enix for comment, but don’t expect the publisher to confirm or deny. If this remastered version of the game turns out to be legitimate, it could potentially come to more than just PlayStation platforms.
