Rumor: Dark Souls III Launch Date, Special Editions Revealed
“Dark Souls 3” is set to make waves next year as one of the most anticipated RPG releases. The leak corresponds with a previous announcement made by From Software, confirming a release date during the month of April. According to United Arab Emirates retailer Geekay Games, two different special editions of the upcoming title could launch alongside the standard release. The two editions had separate listings with the full inclusions of each revealed.
First spotted by NeoGAF user Maz, the versions include a whole bunch of goodies in addition to the game itself, with the Prestige edition being the better of the two, depending on what and how large you want your collectible statues to be.
Both editions of the game contain a collector’s box, a metal case, three iron-on patches, a cloth game map, a hardcover artbook, the official soundtrack, and a figurine. A big jump for essentially the only difference being an alternate figure. That seems plausible. However, the Prestige Edition is 1799 AED, which is $490 – that’s rather steep.
Well it looks like the hype train for Dark Souls 3 just went up another notch.
While the images with the listings definitely seem official, the last we heard from publisher Namco Bandai about Dark Souls III was during the Tokyo Game Show, when release dates of March 24th for Japan, and sometime in April for U.S. and Europe were provided.
“Our objective is to make the game possible to accomplish”, he said in a recent interview with Play Magazine.
Another goal is to capture the fancy of both new and old players of the franchise.
