Rumor: Final Fantasy XII is getting a remake
When asked by fans for clarity, Sakimoto and Roth said they couldn’t talk about Final Fantasy XII. Hopefully, if it does exist, this version of Final Fantasy 12 will take after the vastly superior global Zodiac Job System version that never made it to western shores. At a recent Final Fantasy Distant Worlds concert in Pittsburgh, composer Arnie Roth let slip that that “there is a Final Fantasy XII remake underway”, adding that it would be coming out “soon”. As of now, it’s unclear if the game will get a full remake like Final Fantasy VII or a remastered edition like Final Fantasy X and X-2.
Square Enix released Final Fantasy XII for the PlayStation 2 in 2006 in Japan and North America, and in 2007 in Europe.

While this is an unexpected and unusual time to announce a remake, it’s worth mentioning Square Enix composer Hitoshi Sakimoto was in the audience – so it would be somewhat insulting to confirm something fake with someone very close to the series in attendance.
