RUMOR: Nintendo’s next game console will start around $250
A spokesperson from GAME stated that the Nintendo Switch price leak was from inaccurate sources.
We’ll just have to take this rumor with a grain of salt until Nintendo officially announces the price for their next console. The Canadian chain store “Toys “R” Us” has included in its list the Nintendo Switch indicating a price of $329 Canadian, equivalent to about 249 U.S. dollars.
Meanwhile, spoilers seem to have leaked as the powerful Nintendo Switch is allegedly getting two titles from the “Super Mario” game series. The more expensive sku would probably include more internal storage as well as a packed in game.
By comparison, the Wii U launched for So the Nintendo Switch price may actually be slightly cheaper than its predecessor.
Huang also revealed that Nvidia, which made the Tegra CPU that powers the Switch, has been working with Nintendo for “almost two years” and that “this is a relationship that will likely last two decades”. And while that’s tremendously exciting, it also leaves us with big question marks about the future of Nintendo’s 3DS handheld console.
The Nintendo Switch is an odd beast.
In terms of the Nintendo Switch price, Ovum analyst Paul Jackson believes that £200-£220 represents the “sweet spot for mass adoption”, and that £300 would be a good price to start with for Nintendo.
Again, until more news is revealed from Nintendo, it’s hard to say how much the Switch will really cost.

The Canadian Toys R Us website may have just accidentally outed the price of the Nintendo Switch.
Thankfully Nintendo will give fans more information on Switch early next year. Only one source suggested the pack-in game’s name to LPVG, and so it went undetailed in the report.
A late October announcement from Nintendo indicated that it would announce retail price, launch games, and technical specifications on January 12, 2017.
