Russell Wilson, Seahawks reach deal for 4 more years
A three-time Pro Bowler, Chancellor is scheduled to make $4.6 million this season as part of a four-year extension he signed in 2013 worth $28 million. Peter King is reporting Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks have come to terms on a four year extension worth .6 million. His client wants a pay raise after putting together great numbers in the 2014 NFL season, and this is one method that players have resorted to.
Wilson and the Seahawks have been in talks trying to get a deal done.
The Seahawks had reportedly set a deadline of July 31 (the start of training camp) to reach an agreement on a new extension with their signal caller. The lone exception, according to 710 ESPN Seattle’s Danny O’Neil: strong safety Kam Chancellor, who is reportedly seeking more money and considering a holdout. Rodgers’ deal, for instance, is only 49% guaranteed, and Cam Newton’s monster new contract is only 39.5% guaranteed. He is seeking a deal that would pay him upwards of $20 million this season. Though several acquisition have taken place, (Jimmy Graham being the largest), the core of the Seattle Seahawks appears to be shifting in the wrong direction. Bad news for teams without a QB who were hoping to have a shot at Wilson in two years. In his three seasons at Eastern Washington, the 5-foot-11, 205-pound Adams passed for 10,438 yards and 110 touchdowns, 31 interceptions, while completing 64.8 percent of his passes.
This brings me back to Russell Wilson, and his inevitable record breaking contract.
